Water is the most important resource for farming. Today, over 4–5 million registered farmers in Zambia face water shortages and poor operational systems, leading to low productivity and reduced incomes. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the sector continues to struggle with low productivity, limited mechanization, inadequate infrastructure, skills gaps, weak research and development, limited access to affordable finance, lack of specialized staff, and heavy dependence on rainfall (Ministry of Agriculture Strategic Plan 2022–2026).
At ZamNordic, we are working closely with District Agriculture Coordinators, Cooperatives, and NGOs to support farmers with high-quality solar-powered water solutions that improve access to water and boost agricultural productivity
